Semarang, February 5, 2025, the Department of Economics and Development Studies held a coordination and discussion event related to the preparation of the Semester Learning Plan (RPS) for the even semester of 2024/2025. This event aims to ensure that each course has a more systematic structure and teaching method (in accordance with the OBE curriculum) and is relevant to the latest developments in economics. In this activity, lecturers discussed in depth the lecture materials, evaluation methods, and learning strategies that can improve the quality of the teaching and learning process in the department.
This event was initiated by Prof. FX Sugiyanto and Prof. Akhmad Syakir Kurnia, who played an active role in providing direction and views on the importance of good learning planning. Lecturers from various fields of economics were also present and provided valuable input to improve the RPS that will be implemented in the upcoming semester. With this coordination, it is hoped that all courses can be more structured, so that students gain a better understanding of each material taught.
One of the discussion activities
Several courses that are the focus of the preparation of the RPS this time include Development Economics 2, Monetary Economics 1, Macroeconomics 1, Banks and Financial Institutions, and International Monetary Economics. In this discussion, the lecturers discussed various important aspects, such as the scope of material that must be updated, the use of the latest references, and the integration of technology in the learning process. In addition, student assessment and evaluation methods are also a major concern in order to improve the effectiveness of teaching.
With this discussion, it is hoped that lectures in the even semester of 2024/2025 can run more optimally and in a focused manner. The RPS that has been prepared together serves as a guideline for lecturers in teaching, as well as providing a clear picture for students regarding the learning objectives of each course. Through careful planning, the quality of education in the Department of Economics and Development Studies is expected to continue to improve, and be able to produce competent graduates who are ready to face challenges in the world of work.
