Closing of Khotmil Quran Dies Natalis FEB Undip 65th, Presenting Habiburrahman El Shirazy

Semarang, March 25, 2025, Faculty of Economics and Business, Diponegoro University (FEB Undip) held a closing ceremony for the Khotmil Quran in the framework of the 65th Anniversary with the theme Maintaining Love at the End of the Month of Ramadan. The event which took place at the KWU Building, FEB Undip, started at 15.30 WIB until the time to break the fast.
Dean of FEB Undip, Prof. Faisal, officially opened the event by conveying that during this year’s Ramadan, FEB Undip has successfully completed the khataman of the Al-Quran 20 times. He emphasized that the Khotmil Quran tradition which always opens and closes the FEB Undip Anniversary will continue as a form of commitment to making the Al-Quran a guideline for life.

This event presented the main speaker, Habiburrahman El Shirazy, a famous novelist known for his works such as Ayat-Ayat Cinta and Ketika Cinta Bertasbih. In his sermon session, he highlighted two blessings that are often less appreciated by humans, namely the blessings of free time and health. He reminded that many people only realize how valuable these two things are after losing them, so it is important for each individual to use them as best they can in goodness and worship

In addition to giving a sermon, Habiburrahman also recited a poem entitled Al-Quran Bernyawa, which really touched the hearts of the audience. In the poem, he explained that Rasulullah ﷺ is the real embodiment of the living Quran. Every action, word, and everything done by Rasulullah is a reflection of the teachings contained in the Quran. He also told the story of Abu Bakar Ash-Shiddiq, the most loyal friend of Rasulullah who always accompanied him in joy and sorrow, becoming an example of steadfastness of faith and loyalty to the struggle for Islam.
In addition, on this occasion, he also announced that the film adaptation of his novel entitled Setetes Embun Cinta Niyala will air on Netflix on March 31, 2025. This film is expected to provide inspiration and deep moral values for its audience.
Donation to Children of Arradiyah Sambiroto Islamic Boarding School
This event was also attended by children from Arradiyah Sambiroto Orphanage, who were part of the FEB Berbagi social activity. In closing, Habiburrahman El Shirazy advised FEB Undip to continue to maintain the Khotmil Quran tradition every year. According to him, this activity not only brings blessings, but also strengthens spiritual values in the academic environment. The event was then closed with a joint prayer and breaking the fast together with all participants present, creating an atmosphere full of warmth and blessings at the end of Ramadan.
