Badung, Bali – Proud news came from 4 students of the Economics Department of Diponegoro University, who successfully won various championship awards in the Taekwondo Kasal Cup 2 International Open 2025 event which took place on February 14-16, 2025 in Purna Krida, Badung, Bali.
This competition was attended by 2,000 participants consisting of international and national athletes, as well as athletes from the TNI-Polri and the Indonesian Taekwondo Executive Board. This championship is a continuation of the National Taekwondo Cup Championship in Jakarta in October 2023.
In his remarks, Kasal who is also the Chief of Staff of the Navy emphasized that this event is not just a competition, but also a form of support from the TNI AL for the development of national sports and increasing the achievements of Indonesian athletes at the international level. “This championship is part of the implementation of the National Sports Grand Design (DBON) which is one of the focuses of President Prabowo Subianto’s Asta Cita program,” said Kasal. He also expressed his appreciation to all participants and countries that have participated, and hopes that this event will further increase the interest of the younger generation in martial arts. “The achievement achieved today is not the end, but the beginning of a journey towards greater achievements in the future, he added.
Through hard work and consistent training, Fiona managed to show her best performance in this championship. With perseverance and a mature strategy, she successfully won and brought home the championship title. Her victory is proof that Undip students are able to compete and excel in the international arena.
This achievement is expected to be an inspiration for other Undip students to continue to develop their potential and make the university proud, both in academic and non-academic fields. Congratulations to the male and female students who have won medals, Hopefully this achievement will motivate other students to continue to fight and excel.
