Semarang, October 15, 2025 – Diponegoro University (UNDIP) commemorates its 68th anniversary with the spirit of Dignified and Beneficial. Since its establishment in 1957, October 15 has served as a moment for the UNDIP academic community to reflect on its long journey of dedication to the nation and society.
In its 68th year, UNDIP continues to strengthen its commitment to realizing its vision as a leading research university that produces globally competitive graduates and contributes meaningfully to public welfare.
In his address, the Rector of Diponegoro University, Prof. Dr. Suharnomo, S.E., M.Si., reaffirmed the meaning of UNDIP’s two main taglines. “Education is the gateway to a nation’s progress. At the age of 68, we once again emphasize UNDIP’s two core values: Dignified, which means upholding integrity, ethics, and academic excellence; and Beneficial, which means ensuring that the knowledge we produce brings tangible impact to society,” he stated.
Appreciation was also expressed by Prof. Brian Yuliarto, Ph.D., the Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia, who praised UNDIP’s consistency in producing outstanding innovations that address various contemporary challenges. This aligns with the spirit of Impactful Higher Education, Science, and Technology (Diktisaintek Berdampak), which emphasizes research and the application of knowledge for national advancement.
The Governor of Central Java, Ahmad Luthfi, also extended his congratulations and appreciation for UNDIP’s contribution to human resource development in the region.
The highlight of the 68th Anniversary celebration featured a Scientific Oration titled “Innovation for the Nation” delivered by Prof. Joga Darma Setiawan, B.Sc., M.Sc., PhD, President Director of PT Land Industries. In his speech, Prof. Yoga emphasized the importance of collaboration between academia and industry in creating sustainable innovations that provide broad benefits to society.
As part of the 68th Anniversary celebration, Diponegoro University also organized various events involving the entire academic community and the public, including:
