Undip Economics Lecturers Contribute to TICEMBA 2025, Presenting Research on Poverty, Governance, and ASEAN Economic Challenges

Magelang, October 30, 2025 — Two lecturers from the Department of Economics, Universitas Diponegoro, Maulana Ghani Yusuf, S.Si., M.E. and Tangguh Pratysto, S.E., M.S.E., actively participated in the Tidar International Conference on Economics, Management, Business, and Accounting (TICEMBA) 2025. The international scientific event, organized by the Faculty of Economics, Universitas Tidar, was conducted in a hybrid format at the General Lecture Hall dr. H.R. Suparsono and via Zoom Meeting starting at 08.00 WIB.

The conference opened with a series of keynote addresses delivered by distinguished speakers. During the 09.45–10.15 session, Mr. Hersindaru Arwityo Ibnu Wisoho Wahyutomo, Ambassador of Finland and Estonia, emphasized the significance of global collaboration in achieving sustainable economic development. This was followed by Mr. Damar Prasetyono, Mayor of Magelang, who outlined strategies for strengthening local economic resilience in the 10.15–10.45 session.

Further academic insights were presented throughout the keynote sessions. Assoc. Prof. Norlida Hanim Mohd Salleh from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) discussed regional economic dynamics during the 10.45–11.30 session. Later, Dr. Dominic Mahon from the University of Surrey highlighted contemporary issues in global economics during the 11.30–12.15 session.

In the Parallel Sessions, the two Undip Economics lecturers showcased their research in their respective fields.

Maulana Ghani Yusuf, S.Si., M.E. presented his paper titled “Rethinking Social Assistance and Inequality in Addressing Poverty in Central Java,” which reevaluates the effectiveness of social assistance programs and examines how inequality shapes poverty alleviation efforts in Central Java.

Tangguh Pratysto, S.E., M.S.E. delivered a presentation on his study, “Governance and Unemployment in ASEAN: The Roles of Political Stability and Rule of Law,” analyzing the influence of political stability and governance quality on unemployment levels across ASEAN countries.

The participation of Undip Economics lecturers in TICEMBA 2025 demonstrates the university’s commitment to fostering academic excellence, strengthening international research collaboration, and contributing to global discourse on regional and international economic issues.
