Semarang, June 13, 2025 – The Economics Study Program, Faculty of Economics and Business, Diponegoro University (UNDIP) received a visit from the SMI Institute, a capacity development unit under PT Sarana Multi Infrastruktur (Persero), one of the State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) under the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia engaged in national infrastructure financing.

This visit was received directly by Dr. Jaka Aminata, S.E., M.A., as the Head of the Economics Study Program. During the meeting, both parties discussed opportunities for collaboration in developing academic capacity and strategic contributions in research and studies activities. One of the important points discussed was the plan to involve the SMI Institute as a sponsor and active participant in activities organized by The Center for Complex Systems and Interdisciplinary Studies (CCSIS).

CCSIS is an interdisciplinary study center that focuses on the integration of economics, business, social sciences, humanities, and religion to understand and solve complex problems in modern society. The complexity approach used by CCSIS reflects the needs of the times in responding to challenges that cannot be solved with conventional sectoral approaches.

One of the discussion moments between the UNDIP Economics study program and the SMI Institute

The discussion covered the potential contribution of the SMI Institute in the form of training, knowledge sharing, and support for CCSIS research that is relevant to sustainable development, regional financing, and socio-economic transformation. Through this collaboration, it is hoped that synergy will be created between the academic world and practitioners in producing innovative and applicable solutions to national development issues.

This meeting is also part of the UNDIP Economics Study Program’s efforts to continue expanding strategic networks with national institutions in strengthening the role of higher education as a driving force for innovation and science-based policies.
