Thursday, April 24, 2025, the Faculty of Economics and Business, Diponegoro University (FEB Undip) held a Public Study Seminar (KKP) 6.0 with the theme “Economic Growth Model to Support Asta Cita” at the Pertamina Hall, FEB Undip. This activity presented various important groups, including representatives from Bank Indonesia, national banks, academics from partner campuses such as Unika Soegijapranata and Dian Nuswantoro University (Udinus), as well as the Undip academic community, both lecturers, education staff, and students.
Speech by Undip Rector, Prof. Suharnomo
In his speech, Undip Rector Prof. Suharnomo emphasized the importance of cross-sector collaboration in facing current development challenges. “It is no longer the era of being successful alone, we must work together from various parties,” he said. He also revealed that Undip has been asked by the Governor of Central Java to design a dissemination machine that can convert brackish water into drinking water, as a solution to the problem of tidal water in the Demak area due to groundwater exploitation. This innovation, according to Prof. Suharnomo, is in line with Undip’s tagline Dignified and Beneficial, and is a real manifestation of the campus’ contribution in providing solutions for the region, not just being an ivory tower. “If we can provide a multiplier effect, then we are supporting the government’s program,” he added.
The Undip Rector also expressed the view that universities are now not only active in the academic world, but must also be a liaison between the business world and government to realize community welfare. The seminar presented keynote speaker Aida S. Budiman, Deputy Governor of Bank Indonesia and Head of Division III of PP ISEI, who explained that KKP is a strategic program designed to provide policy input to the government. “This seminar aims to provide real contributions to the government, and its output is a Public Policy Study book,” she said. KKP 5.0 previously raised the theme of food downstream transformation with a manufacturing-based agricultural approach that optimally utilizes human resources. Meanwhile, KKP 6.0 focuses on strategies to strengthen macroeconomic and financial policies to accelerate the achievement of the Government’s Asta Cita.
Keynote Speaker by Deputy Governor of Bank Indonesia and Head of Division III of PP ISEI, Mrs. Aida S. Budiman
The seminar session was moderated by Donni Fajar Anugrah, Ph.D, Deputy Director of the Department of Financial Inclusion and Green Economy. The seminar also presented keynote speakers, including Firman Mochtar (Head of Department at Bank Indonesia), Prof. Telisa Aulia, and Prof. Firmansyah, who discussed various global economic challenges and domestic strategies. Firman Mochtar highlighted the impact of the United States’ tariff policy which had a direct impact on the decline in exports and imports and the slowdown in global economic growth. Trade uncertainty has driven global investors to turn to safe assets, such as gold and European currencies, which have also caused the weakening of the US dollar and rupiah. In addition, he said that global economic growth is predicted to decline from 3.2% to 2.9% due to the economic slowdown in America and China.
Through synergy between academics, business actors, and the government, this activity is not only a space for intellectual discussion, but also a driving force for national optimism. With the spirit of collaboration and long-term vision, the Public Study Seminar 6.0 affirms the commitment to realizing a more just, prosperous, and sovereign Indonesia. It is hoped that the results of this study can provide a real contribution to the direction of national development and economic growth, in line with the spirit of Nawa Cita which prioritizes social justice and equality. The future of Indonesia is in the hands of all of us — let’s keep moving, synergizing, and working for the country.
