Semarang, October 23–24, 2025 — The Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Diponegoro (FEB UNDIP), held a Visiting Professor program as part of its ongoing commitment to enhance academic quality and research with an international perspective.
The event featured Prof. Morgane Chevé from Université Le Havre Normandie, France, who delivered a lecture entitled “Recent Updates in Research Methodology and Its Application in Natural Resource and Environmental Economics.”
Held at the Theater Room, Building C, 4th Floor FEB UNDIP, the session was attended by the faculty leadership, lecturers, and both undergraduate and graduate students. The participants showed high enthusiasm throughout the interactive discussion and Q&A sessions.
French Perspective on Environmental and Energy Economics

In her presentation, Prof. Morgane Chevé explored recent developments in natural resource and environmental economics, focusing on the global challenges of energy transition toward sustainable development. She emphasized the importance of collaborative research that bridges academia, policymakers, and the private sector.
“Research in environmental economics must continuously evolve — integrating social, technological, and policy dimensions to ensure its practical relevance,” explained Prof. Chevé.
She also shared insights from her research experience in Europe, highlighting the use of data-driven and policy-oriented analytical models (green policy modeling), which could be adapted to Indonesia’s economic and environmental context.
Strengthening Research Collaboration and Academic Capacity
The session was moderated by Dr. Ahmad Syarifudin, S.E., M.Si., a lecturer at FEB UNDIP, who emphasized the importance of international knowledge exchange and collaborative research.
“Through this Visiting Professor program, FEB UNDIP aims to strengthen research capacity in environmental and resource economics while expanding international partnerships with leading universities,” said Dr. Ahmad.
The discussion covered various research-related topics, including quantitative methodologies, interdisciplinary approaches, and strategies for publishing in reputable international journals on environmental and resource economics.

This Visiting Professor program represents an important milestone in FEB UNDIP’s strategic effort to internationalize its academic environment, foster interdisciplinary collaboration, and prepare students and lecturers to respond to global sustainability challenges.
In his remarks, the Dean of FEB UNDIP expressed appreciation for the success of the event and underlined the importance of sustaining such initiatives in the future.
“Programs like this not only broaden our academic community’s international outlook but also strengthen FEB UNDIP’s position as a center of excellence in environmental and sustainable economics research,” he stated.
