Semarang, August 11, 2025 – The Faculty of Economics and Business, Diponegoro University (FEB UNDIP) conducted an official site visit to PT Al Hikmah Berkah Abadi, a labor placement company experienced in placing Indonesian migrant workers to various destination countries. This visit was part of the preparation for the Academic Meeting at the Southeast and South Asia Migration Studies Workshop, which will be held on August 17–20, 2025.
PT Al Hikmah Berkah Abadi Profile
PT Al Hikmah Berkah Abadi is an official Indonesian Migrant Worker Placement Company (P3MI) located in Semarang. The company holds an operational permit from the Indonesian Ministry of Manpower and is accredited to send workers to several destination countries, particularly in formal sectors such as manufacturing, hospitality, maintenance services, and construction. The company manages the entire labor placement process in an integrated manner, starting with:
Recruitment: Selection of prospective workers from various regions in Indonesia through a network of local recruitment partners.
Training and Certification: Adequate training center facilities to equip prospective workers with technical skills, foreign languages, and the work culture of the destination country.
Provision and Protection: Education on workers’ rights and obligations, legal protection, and assistance mechanisms in the event of problems abroad.
Monitoring and Evaluation: Monitoring workers’ conditions after placement and gathering feedback from companies using their services abroad.

Site Visit Activities


The visit by the UNDIP Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) team, led by several lecturers and researchers, aimed to gain knowledge and field insights relevant to the upcoming workshop theme, specifically regarding labor migration flows in Southeast Asia and South Asia. During this opportunity, the UNDIP Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) team held discussions and engaged in direct dialogue with company management through the following activities:
1. Welcome and Introduction to Company Profile
The event began with remarks from the President Director of PT Al Hikmah Berkah Abadi, who outlined a brief history of the company, its operational areas, and its workforce placement strategies amidst changes in the global labor market. This presentation also explained trends in labor demand from destination countries such as Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and the Middle East. 2. Discussion on Recruitment and Training
The UNDIP Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) team discussed with the training division a training curriculum tailored to the specific needs of industries in the destination countries. The discussion covered language learning methods, technical skills training, and real-life work simulations. The company also explained the competency certification mechanism, which collaborates with official institutions.
3. Migrant Worker Protection
The issue of worker protection was a key focus of the discussion. The company outlined protocols for handling issues experienced by workers abroad, such as contract violations or unsafe working conditions. This is a key point that will be brought up in the Academic Meeting to discuss more effective protection models.
4. Opportunities for Research Collaboration and Data Sharing
The two parties discussed potential research collaborations, particularly in developing an accurate and up-to-date labor migration database. This data is expected to serve as a scientific reference for policymakers and academics in formulating sustainable migration policies.
5. Souvenir Presentation
The event concluded with the presentation of souvenirs from the UNDIP Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) to PT Al Hikmah Berkah Abadi as a token of appreciation for the transparency of information and the established collaboration.
With this visit, it is hoped that synergy will be established between the academic and business worlds in formulating adaptive and inclusive strategies related to labor migration issues in the Southeast and South Asia regions, while also strengthening the contribution of FEB UNDIP in developing research and policies in the field of international migration.
