Semarang, March 14, 2025 – Faculty of Economics and Business, Diponegoro University (FEB Undip) held a scientific oration to commemorate its 65th Anniversary. The event raised the theme “Strengthening a Noble and Valuable World Class Faculty through Synergy and Accelerated Growth”. The activity began with the opening of a series of Anniversary events by the Vice Chancellor for Planning, Finance, Assets, Business, and Household, Dr. Warsito Kawedar, S.E., M.Sc., Akt., who emphasized the importance of Undip’s independence, one of which is through the Voca Undip water product from the vocational program. Voca Water has met the needs of the entire Undip academic community and reduced dependence on foreign products.
Furthermore, the Dean of FEB Undip, Prof. Faisal, S.E., M.Sc., Ph.D., conveyed various achievements of FEB Undip, such as international accreditation FIBAA and ABEST 21, QS World Ranking in the fields of Business and Management and Economics in the range of 451-500, and the latest achievement, AACSB accreditation in 2024. He emphasized that FEB Undip is committed to becoming a world-class faculty by strengthening synergy and accelerating the improvement of academic quality, social contribution, character development, and producing superior, dignified, and useful graduates.

The series of events for the 65th Anniversary of FEB Undip include Khotmil Quran on March 1, 2025, Economic English Speech Competition with registration starting March 1, 2025, Scientific Oration on March 14, 2025, Karaoke Competition on April 25-26, 2025, UMKM Exhibition, Healthy Walk, and Mancing Mania on April 26, 2025, and Social Service which will take place throughout April 2025.
The scientific oration in this event was delivered by an alumnus of the Accounting Study Program, FEB Undip class of 1986, Suryo Utomo, S.E., Ak., S.H., M.B.T., Ph.D., who now serves as the Director General of Taxes at the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia. In his oration, he quoted the statement that two things that cannot be avoided are death and paying taxes. He also highlighted the decline in interest in the Accounting major and emphasized that taxation is dynamic and must always adapt to developments, such as the implementation of the QRIS digital payment system. Taxes, as the main source of state revenue, are strictly enforced as regulated in Article 23 of the Law.
One of the latest innovations in taxation is the monthly publication of the state budget position which is delivered directly by the Minister of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia. Taxes are expected to play a role not only in development, but also in protecting and improving public welfare. With the implementation of various activities in the framework of the 65th Anniversary, it is hoped that FEB Undip will continue to develop as a world-class faculty with dignity and continue to provide benefits to the global community.
