Wednesday, February 4, 2026, Professor of the S1 Economics Study Program, Faculty of Economics and Business, Diponegoro University, Prof. FX. Sugiyanto participated in a public dialogue titled “Building Optimism with the 2026 Economic Foundation” which was broadcast live through the YouTube channel and social media platforms. This activity presents other speakers, namely Andi Reina Sari H., Deputy Head Representative of Bank Indonesia Central Java Province, and this public dialogue is hosted by Sigit Rudianto and can be watched through a YouTube broadcast at the following link: https://www.youtube.com/watch? v=j6pVONQMWxw.
In the discussion, the speakers discussed various strategic issues of the national economy, including the concept of “Prabowo-nomics” which is one of the approaches in the direction of Indonesia’s economic policy in the future. The discussion also highlights various government economic development programs, including the strengthening of the Merah Putih Village Cooperative (KDMP) which is expected to be able to strengthen the village economy, increase community productivity, and expand access to financing and economic distribution at the local level.
In addition, the dialogue also highlights the importance of the role of Bank Indonesia in maintaining the stability of the national economy, especially through monetary policy to control inflation and maintain the stability of the rupiah exchange rate. Price stability and exchange rates are considered to be key factors in maintaining investor confidence and ensuring the sustainability of economic growth in the midst of global economic dynamics that are still full of uncertainty.
The discussion also highlighted the contribution of Central Java Province to the national economy. Although compared to West Java and East Java, Central Java has a relatively lower minimum wage and capital-intensive industrial structure, this province is known as a labor-intensive area that is able to absorb large amounts of labor. In recent years, various new industries have also begun to emerge in Central Java, which has the potential to strengthen the regional economic structure as well as support the growth of the national economy more inclusively.
