Jubakti Anggoro Represents FEB Undip at MARLISPACE 2026 International Forum in Vietnam

Semarang – Jubakti Anggoro, a student of the Bachelor of Economics Program at the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) of Diponegoro University, once again made Indonesia’s name in the international arena through his participation in the International Conference – Marine Litter Prevention and Sustainable Practices towards a Circular Economy (MARLISPACE 2026) which was held on March 6-7, 2026 in Nha Trang, Vietnam.

This international conference brings together academics, researchers, policy makers, and practitioners from various countries to discuss various innovative approaches in marine litter prevention and the development of sustainable practices towards a circular economy. This forum becomes a space for exchanging scientific ideas related to marine waste management, waste treatment technology, environmental governance, and sustainable coastal development strategies.

In the forum, Jubakti presented the results of his research entitled “Plastic Waste Management in Karimunjawa Small Island Marine Protected Area: Fast Pyrolysis and Governance Integration.” This research examines the problem of plastic waste in the Karimunjawa area, a Marine Protected Area (MPA) in Central Java that faces environmental pressure due to increasing tourism activities and limitations of the waste management system in the small island area.

Through an integrative approach, the research highlights the importance of combining fast pyrolysis technology as a plastic waste treatment solution with strengthening governance and local community participation. This model is expected to be an alternative to a more effective waste management strategy in small island areas that are vulnerable to marine pollution.

Jubakti’s participation in this conference is a pride in itself because it has succeeded in bringing the issue of plastic waste management in Indonesia into the global academic discourse. His presence not only shows the quality of FEB Undip students in international scientific forums, but also strengthens Indonesia’s contribution in global efforts to overcome the problem of marine litter and maintain the sustainability of the coastal ecosystem.

Apart from being a student, Jubakti is also known to be active as a research assistant and assistant professor in various research activities that focus on sustainability and blue economy issues. His involvement in various research teams shows his commitment as a young generation who has a high concern for environmental sustainability and the welfare of coastal communities.

For him, the opportunity to participate in this international conference is a very valuable academic experience, as well as a space to expand the global scientific network.

“This conference is an opportunity for me to present research on plastic waste management in Indonesia’s small island area. I hope that the ideas I bring can contribute to the development of sustainable solutions in handling marine litter, as well as enriching the research process and community service,” he said.

In addition to a series of scientific presentations and academic discussions during the conference on March 6-7, 2026, the participants also participated in a city tour on March 8, 2026 in the coastal city of Nha Trang as part of the cultural interaction program and international networking between researchers.

Jubakti’s participation in this international conference is also inseparable from the support of various parties at Diponegoro University. The research presented received guidance from Prof. Dr. Indah Susilowati, M.Sc., Ph.D., while institutional support is given by Prof. Faisal, S.E., M.Si., Ph.D. as Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business of Diponegoro University.

This participation also received funding support through the World Class University (WCU) Program of Diponegoro University in the Students Go International (SGI) scheme which aims to encourage students to actively participate in international academic forums.

The presence of FEB Undip students in a global forum like this is a real manifestation of Diponegoro University’s commitment in preparing a young generation that is internationally competitive, has a concern for environmental sustainability, and is able to contribute to the development of science and solutions for the community.
